””“”With a determination to accomplish
The highest welfare for all sentient beings
Who surpass even a wish-granting jewel
I will learn to hold them supremely dear.
Whenever I associate with others I will learn
To think of myself as the lowest among all
And respectfully hold others to be supreme
From the very depths of my heart.
In all actions I will learn to search into my mind
And as soon as a delusion arises
Endangering myself and others
I will bravely face and avert it.
I will learn to cherish beings of bad nature
And those oppressed by strong evil and suffering
As if I had found a precious
Treasure that is very difficult to find.
When others out of jealousy and anger treat me badly
With abuse, slander, and so on,
I will learn accept all loss and defeat,
And offer victory to them.
When one whom I have benefited with great hope
Unreasonably hurts me very badly,
I will learn to view that person
As my holy spiritual friend.
In short, I will learn to offer to everyone without exception
All help and happiness directly and indirectly
And secretly take upon myself
All harm and suffering of all sentient beings, my mothers.
I will learn to keep all these practices
Undefiled despite the power of the eight worldly conceptions
And by understanding all phenomena as illusory
Find release without grasping from the bondage of attachment.””“”
#6 is the one I try to practice when travelling on major highways between 5 and 7pm and I allow someone to cut in and then they drive 20 mph slower than everyone else. Driving contains a lot of wisdom, sometimes. Yes, Dad, I’m talking to you haha
“Push on the gas - the car go zoom, zoom”
“You can go on green in this state”
“Oh great, what a nin-com-poop”
“What did other drivers do before I started telling them what to do?”
“Next time buy a car that you know how to drive”
haha a tell-tale sign a post has gone too far is when it becomes a mash-up of shit my dad says and tibetan buddhism
